A

  • Anchor Bolts: Round steel rods with threads at one end, used to anchor the metal structure to the foundations. The diameter and number of bolts depend on the actions and structural system adopted.

B

  • Beam of the Frame: Metal profiles in welded plates, used as beams of the main frames to support secondary roofing framings.
  • Beams of the Gable: Beam of the frame of the gable.
  • Braces: Retracted metal straps. When used along with compressed secondary framings, they form a truss system that transfers horizontal forces, from the wall or roof to the foundation.

C

  • Column: The metal vertical member that supports the system of main framing.
  • Corner Strut: Corner column of the metal structure, vertex of the meeting of the side walls with the gables.

D

  • Decktite: It is a rubber finish that seals holes in the roof, enabling pipelines to run through the roof panels, aiming to ensure impermeability of the roof. Tubes with up to 500 mm in diameter.

F

  • Frame with Internal Pillar:A frame with multiple spans consisting of sections with straight or variable solidly linked pieces. The moment of the exterior connections beams the column and stabilizes the structure. The beam extends in the width of the building using internal columns and supporting the secondary framing along with the roof and wall.
  • Frame without Internal Pillar:A structural frame in welded plate, free of internal columns, consisting of straight or variable pieces. The connection of moment beam-to-column stabilizes the structure in relation to acting actions.
  • Free Interspace of the Frame:Distance measured between the inner faces of the columns of the frames.

G

  • Gable:An exterior wall that is perpendicular to the ridge and parallel to the main gateways.

H

  • Height:The distance from the floor to the lower part of the beam in its connection with the column.

I

  • Inter-frames Modulation:It is the distance between the axes of the columns of the primary framing, measured parallel to the ridge.
  • Internal Column:The metal vertical support member of the main frame, which is not in the extremities of the members.

K

  • Knot:The area with greatest inertia of the column or beam component. It is designed to account for the higher bending moments that occur in such positions. This typically occurs in the beam-to-column connection.

M

  • Main Framing:Main beams that rest on the pillars. They are positioned in the direction of the slope of the roof.
  • Metal Wall System:Exterior walls composed of panels, fixing and sealing accessories.

N

  • Natural Ventilation:Ventilation system that does not require electrical power or mechanical parts for its operation. It provides thermal comfort to the internal environment, offering more stable temperatures, eliminating hot air, removing smoke or gases generated in specific manufacturing processes and replacing air without generation of bothersome noises.

P

  • Pillars of Wall Beam:A structural system used on the walls of the gables, consisting of corner and internal pillars and gable beams.

R

  • Ridge:It is the apex of the building.
  • Roof Purlin:A secondary component of the roof, which is fixed to the main framings and supports the roof panels.
  • Roof System:The exterior surface of the roof, consisting of roof panels and accessories for fixing and sealing.

S

  • Secondary Framing:Elements that rest on the main beams to secure the roof panels. They are perpendicular to the slope of the roof.
  • Side Wall:An exterior wall that is parallel to the ridge.
  • Side Wall Purlin:A secondary horizontal component of the wall, which is fixed to the side or gable columns and which gives support to the wall panels.
  • Spacing of the Pillars of the Gable:Distance between the axes of the strut of the gable.

T

  • Thermal insulation:System used in roofings or side panels to offer thermo-acoustics performance, environmental comfort and energy savings. It may be composed of glass wool, rock or expanded polyurethane.
  • Total height:The vertical measure from the concluded floor to the eaves of the roof panel.
  • Trapezoidal Roof Panel:Panels formed with trapezoids fixed with screws. They can be used for roofings, but mostly to the side walls. They are a more economical alternative.

Z

  • Zenithal Lighting:A system that provides energy savings through the natural solar lighting of the environment. Consisting of alveolar polycarbonate (clear or milky white), it offers thermal insulation and protection against ultraviolet rays. It can be used in roofings and side panels.
  • Zip Roof Panel:Panels with fixation by fit and seam that absorb the expansions of the roofing. Used only for roofs.
