Medabil’s Sustainable Development Actions

Sustainable development is the way of understanding economic and productive life without exceeding ecological limits and the ethical commitment to future generations, to natural resources and to the health of the planet.

Among Medabil’s sustainable development actions, the Group’s strong relationship with the community of Nova Bassano and neighboring regions stands outs. The community’s needs are identified through the company’s participation in activities that involve community organizations. In this case, Medabil’s Human Resources area works together with its employees, since they have strong interaction with the community.

Medabil’s Main Responsibility Actions

• Warm Clothing Campaign:

  For several years, Medabil performs the Campaign for the Donation of Warm Clothing, aiming to promote more humane conditions for poor families in the cities of Nova Bassano and Nova Araçá. With a significant growth every year, the campaign now has several partners throughout the region of Nova Bassano and Nova Araçá.

• Donation of Toys:

  Since 2001, Medabil started the campaign for the donations of toys, which occurs in periods leading up to Easter and Christmas. The company, in such significant dates, encourages its employees to donate toys in good conditions as a way of cheering needy children in the region of Nova Bassano. The campaign has been benefiting approximately 140 children.

• Donation of Building Materials:

  The company organizes donations of building materials to organizations of the city and region, as well as to the gymnasium of ABEM – Associação do Bem-Estar do Menor (Association to the Well-Being of Minors), to the building of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and to Hospital São João Batista – organizations from the city of Nova Prata, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul – and to the Pious Society of Scalabrini Fathers, in the cities of Guaporé and Nova Bassano.

  Materials were also donated to the City Hall of the city of Nova Bassano and to the Federal Highway Police – tiles, pillars, attachment fittings and gutters, for the construction of a building. Recently, the coverage of the sidewalk for the students of Escola Municipal XV de Novembro (a public school) and of the roof of the Main Church, in the city of Nova Bassano, were made.
